This game enables you to entrench your marketing acumen while having fun and learning from the group.
The content is splitted in 5 categories: strategies, sales, creativty, audiences and channels.
It can be played in teams or individually and it includes quests that require instant short answers (objective) or ad-hoc creation (subjective) where points are decided by the group, based on their instant reaction to the content presented or the existence of a game jury (neutral person), if the game has a larger group of players.
Please note that gamification of any kind is often based on active learning principles. Active learning can only be effective once a solid foundation of knowledge has been acquired through traditional methods. Various book authors emphasize that active learning should not be seen as a replacement for traditional learning, but rather as a complement to it. In order to effectively engage in active learning, one must have a solid foundation of knowledge on which to build. Without this foundation, active learning can become a frustrating and ineffective exercise.
With this reason in mind we created a special edition for students, children or young adults who are seeking to discover their passion and future career path. Therefore, the Alumni Edition includes foundation of learning (not only active learning) based on a few basic concepts, followed by the principle of interleaving. This strategy is based on the idea that by alternating between different subjects and exercises, students can improve their performance and retention of information. This approach also helps students to build connections between different concepts and apply them in new and unfamiliar contexts, therefore, teachers can also assess students' ability to recognise patterns and similarities between problems, rather than simply memorizing specific solutions.
The main marketing concepts addressed in the Alumni Edition are: brand, visual identity, target audience, branding, product development, product strategy. Advertising, sales promotion, market research, digital marketing, channels, profit formula, gross margin formula, guerrilla marketing and neuromarketing.
If the students are already familiarised with these notions, then it’s recommended to leverage active learning principles using the other games available (Unicorn/ Wolf edition).
